We may have been lied to for

We may have been lied to for years but we continue to believe parts of those lies by choice. The weapons of mass destruction were not there (they may have been moved but the point being they were not there), knowing who assisted on the 9/11 attack and doing nothing, finding family ties of Bush & Osama and not acting. By turning our heads we are supporting the decisions made in Washington. We all know that Bush is the puppet in this desperate game of WAR and frankly I believe that he is not to blame for a lot of the stupid decisions he has made. Imagine giving a gun to an infant, they won't know what to do with it but eventually it will go off and who knows where it will hit. That's how Bush's Presidency has been. Nothing is for certain and all of the promises made concerning peace and justice has done nothing but run up our tab. We all know that a few decent sized missles do not cost $519 bil but hey why not send some troops over there and let them get paid as well. And while we're at it, lets rebuild their villages that we have destroyed or that have been destroyed because we are there. Also, lets enlist all who want to join the military because we can train anyone to hold a gun and shoot and if they make it back THEN we can send them to college and assist in common sense or rational decision making. What a lovely idea.

As far as the oil prices and the sky-rocketing market, this county is way out of whack and the weakening dollar / economy is just the beginning of a snowball effect that has years to come to fruition. We complain about the gas prices but yet we have to have nascar, boating, or fly to see a friend that we just saw last year. We have become dependent on fuel and no one will stand up and say instead of having the luxuries of sports that require fuel why don't we do away with these things for six months or one year to stimulate the supply of oil. Why not go through a little bit of pain knowing there is a relief in sight? Because as of now, the relief is a bicycle and all of us working in a field picking tomatoes since we'll lose our jobs if we can't travel the 30 miles to the office. Let us realize what its going to take to make things right and do it. Lets take the initiative to make deals with foreign leaders to create a triving economy like we were such a short time ago. I'm not saying that we should all be hermits and have no fun forever but at least have realistic limitations.

We are all seeking a President that will help the country and the main issue 8 years ago was Social Security or Healthcare and now all we can think about is if we'll have enough money to get groceries after filling up our tank. It's not about who looks good on camera or who is not black or has the most money. It's about who can thrive as a President and make this country what it WAS not what it's going to BE.

In 2010 Election House/Senat main Issue to all candidates:
In 2012 Pres.Election again:
" How do we get them home ? "

What is the best course now?

OK. Bush lied to get permission to invade Iraq. It angers me every time I think about it. It angers me that our current politicians (most of them at least -- Democrats and Republicans) failed to seriously think about it before permitting him to get away with it. They all allowed themselve to be whipped with the "Either your a patriot (with me) or traitor (against me) BS."

But that cannot be changed now.

Iraq is now in a mess that this country created. The question we should ask ourselves is what do we do about that mess now. Sure we could pull out. Do the liberals among us think that Iraq will be better off if we do? Will the US be better off (long term) if we do? Is it the Right Thing to do given what we have done to date? I think not. Afghanistan provides the best example of what can happen if we take that course of action.

What do the Iraqi people want now; US in trying stabilize a government or US out to let the chips fall where they may? I fail to hear anyone ask that question. By all accounts (at least almost all) the Iraqi election was fair (some may dispute the available choices but that would be true with every election). I heard the major networks recently conducted a poll and the overwhelming result was that the Iraqi people wanted the US to continue. I have not seen or been able to find this poll and do not even know if it exists so classify it as rumour. I cannot recall where I heard this "rumour."

I say let the Iraqi people vote and decide -- US in or US out immediately. The vote could be set 1 year out or at the same time as the next Iraqi national election. Given current situation we would never pull out within the next year anyway.

Of course there will be price to pay no matter what they select. If they vote us out short term we will save many US lives. Short term it will very likely be at the cost of a prolonged, more violent Iraqi civil war and much less stable area. Who can evaluate the long term cost? That will just have to be a risk we take. If they vote us in, the current fighting will continue and we will continue to lose our service men and women.

Would Bush go for such an idea? I doubt it. Democracies seem to scare him.

Bush's War

You americans trully are a bunch of naive and gready people. I think this is a result of brainwashing process you guys undergo with the help of the nonsens style TV. The War in Iraq was wrongly started ,for wrong reasons and is wrongly conducted by incompetent politicians. It could have been won long time ago if competent people were involved. It costs you already 514 billion dollars and counting. Your children will pay the bill in form of taxes instead of paying for their education. But that is your choice , you elected this administration for the second term. Now seeing this disaster you turn to Black People ( Obama) who were discriminated here for so long .You think he will save your butt in the next elections. Will Corporate America allow him to do anything if he wins ? I dont think so.

Iraq War

I supported Ron Paul. Visit his Web page at ronpaul2008.com. He is still running for president. Ron Paul has always been against the Iraq War, wants to abolish the IRS,supports a balanced budget, and wants to return to a gold standard. If we had a gold standard, there would be no inflation and the Iraq War would not have been possible.

Thanks for calling it what

Thanks for calling it what it is: an occupation. I would add an illegal to the front of that though- illegal occupation. Let's all PLEASE stop calling this a war! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Whatever!!

Wow!!! You libral cry babies!! You people sound like a bunch of p*****s! I have been to Afghanistan and Iraq as well I have seen my brother go and multiple friends. I can even tell you the names of people I watched die, a few of them were good friends and one was a great friend. The American Military needs to keep its presents as well as the amount of pressure on insurgants. Hell, I think we need to put more pressure but you libral cry babies are afraid of hurting someone and being mean. Who Cares!! Power plants, Schools, Roads, and Health Care Facilites are all being provided for by the entire coalition. The last time I checked, there's still construction happening here in the US as well. If our military pulls out, the American people can not even think of the danger and possibly destructiuon that will incure. Most of the people who our military is fighting now, are not county men of Iraq. They are fighters from other counties who will use an unstable Iraq too plan other attacks on the US. They will see an US pull-out as a retreit and defeat that will, cause more pian than what you can imagine. Look what happened, When Bill Clinton did not do his job too protect America. Ran from Somalia, did not defend the USS Cole, did nothing when US Embassies in Aferica was bomded. The people we are fighting today do not understand diplomacy. They see it as weak. We must fight, in fact they teach their fighters too "Lay Low in time Americans will come too defend you" and "Americans are weak". Those quotes come from a training manual that was recoeved and since came public in 2001. Of course the authors of that manual are teaching about the US Court System, kill 5 Americans or 500,000 it does not matter some American Lawyer will come too rescue you because you are the victim. Also, the weak American people will soon forget and think of the sacrafices and changed in their lives and will again feel sorry for you.
Of course some of you say the gas prices. Here it is people, one man...mean the President. Can not dictate Oil prices. Sorry, to break some hearts, but the gas situation is not President Bush's fault. You think Oil is high now...remove all US influence from the Middle East of course you will still blame it one a "war machine".
In closing, grow up...you think some young man/woman getting shot at is having a grand time at war. Hell no, but thet are not crying about it. Then they get too hear news from the US and they see this shit...making them feel like they are waisting their energy and the lives of their friends. While they are thinking of this you are thinking of a US deficient that has always been present. Please people, the US deficient will never be paid off even if this war or any war would have never happened and personally when it comes too the sovernty and safety of this country...we as Americans will do what ever it takes. I could go on, but I think I have said enough. Have a nice day!

Whatever?

Cass, you sound like someone that is working very hard to justify the situation. I am sorry that you have been duped into believing in this bull***t war. The Huns are not at the gates, despite what your commanders tell you to keep you in line. I am sorry that so many people signed up for the opportunities the military had to offer, only to find themselves having to be the ones that pay the price. What I don't understand is why we don't see the communist threat of China? Our grandfathers that fought in the great wars, had the same tone of voice as you speak with now when our country started to crawl in bed with China. Now we don't seem to see the humanitarian threats the Chinese government provokes, even though they invoke home-land terrorism on our children with their lead-based products. Our store shelves are stocked with goods made in China, we borrow money from China, they DO have WOMD. Do we start a war with them? Hell no, we support the communists. Really people, wake up and think!

I bet he will not let his son or daughter go to this war!!!!!!

The Case for School Funding

You poor soul...the obvious lack of grammatical and spelling quality of your rant, in and of itself, makes one hell of a case for reconsidering the loss of funding in our school systems, and increased escalation. That's not to mention the terrible void in your training in rational thinking. The threat of proliferation over in Iraq did/does not seem tremendous enough to warrant the deaths of so many of our own sons, fathers, mothers, daughters, uncles, etc... The American public should never have been lied to in order to gain support for warring against an underestimated and misunderstood enemy. The Al-qaida/Bin Laden connection still seems questionable, at best. What's more, did we even get answers to Michael Moorer's qustions about the Bush-Bin Laden family connection??? I was all for avenging our fallen comrads, but the waste in human lives and FUTURE lives, by taking the candy from babies, so to speak, is nothing short of irresponsibility and even INSANITY! Let's save some lives now...those of our school children...and their children...and theirs...and theirs!

Wow

To sum your idiot remarks up,, let us look at the facts. We do have to protect Americans that is why we need to bring the troops home asap, and protect this country. We aren't or have never been the World Police or the War Hungry Country. Right now we are fighting wars just to save intrest we really don't need, but the wars we need to fight we ignore Tibet, South Africa (that is how it is spelled). Gas prices went up because we let the Oil big wigs run wild because there friend Lil Bush is making the same money with them. We are a strong and proud nation which now looks like we only chase lies to find a way to fight the wars we can't win or have no need to fight. The money we are spending in Iraq to pay the Iraq army could have went to schools here, jobs here, the housing problem here, but instead we let 4,000 young men and women die to chase a dream of weapons of mass destruction that was a lie from beginning. We cried as a country when the towers fell, but have we proved how did it yet? No, because we used that to run to war, but 10 minutes after the second tower fell we had pictures and backround info on some terroist we knew about and did nothing. You need to wake up and see that this Administration has been lying from day one, it stole the election, and then stole 4,000 lives and counting to please a mad war hungry leader bent on taking over a region for it oil and money.
As far as going to war I've been there three times, and yes it hurts to see what the news and people say, but if you look deeper you'll see that the lives lost aren't worth the goals set by the people who are in DC. I've lost 15 Friends to this war and none of them knew what they were fighting for, they were just following orders.

IDIOT!!!

Our military does not want to be there. We created the Iraq that you call unstable. And it is Bully Bush's fault we're paying out the nose for oil. Funny how we pay more for military advertisement her in the U.S. than we do for education. This is all part of the plan, don't you read? This is generation Y we're talking about. Look it up.

"Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."

I assume that applies to you. Oh- and it's bombed. Not bomded.

"There's a sucker born every

"There's a sucker born every minute"

I feel really sorry for you

I feel really sorry for you sir, you are as naive as the rest of those fools! Go drink some more of George Bush's kool-aid and leave us "libral p******s" to care about our fellow men and women who are dying in foreign lands and lament our country going bankrupt before our very eyes!

help

bush is destroying this country

Madness masquerading as the rational.

.....There is a way to address the toll on the atrocity of little Bush's war: put the criminals responsible on trial for their hideous war crimes. Ship them all to the Hague. Help the victims everywhere repair their lives and RESTORE America, the torn, the raped, the sullied, the abused, the lied-to pathetic massings of humanity.

.....But you know restoration will never happen. Americans put the Bushies in the white house not once but twice and like the Nazi's who went home and bounced their children on their knees, tended their gardens, and slept peacefully before another day of lies and killing, filled their minds with entertainments, and looked away to their beliefs, their self-righteous monsterous beliefs, their justifications for mass murder, their wars against humanity.

.....Remember one thing: America the spirit, is not the white house. The white house is occupied by al-queda, with the result that as Greg Palast put it: America has been turned into an armed madhouse.

Bush's War

This documentary (Bush's War") was presented on PBS earlier this week and can be found on the PBS web site. Everyone, especially those who continue to think this war/occupation/surge is what the Bush/Cheney crime machine and now Insane McCain promote it to be, must watch this film and then share it with everyone they know. Aren't you sick of being lied to? And support Representative Wexler's efforts to commence impeachment hearings. Stop the destruction of Iraq and our constitution now.

I think that we should take

I think that we should take a lot of the troops out of Iraq. My brother is in Iraq for his second tour and it has taken a great toll on our family. We think that no family should have to go threw the pain of watching their son, daughter, husband, wife, or any other family member being deployed across seas.

Meme

It is not a War; it is an occupation. War is a "noble" meme; occupation is not. Please, call it by its true name.
